Transformational Thinking ▸

"So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we went, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” Numbers 13

"Your self esteem will determine your World view." - Kris Vallotton

It can be really easy to let whats happening around you, get on you! The way we develop thought patterns often hangs upon the experiences we both see and go through over time. In the case of the 12 Spies sent out into the promised land, 10 came back with a bad report and only 2 came back with a hopeful inventory.

The 10 Spies although negative, still came back with insight "we were like grasshoppers in OUR OWN sight, and SO WE WERE in their Sight". Whatever Kingdom that you choose to agree with will dominate. The Israelites were told to Spy out the land, not to see whether it would be possible to take it. They had already been promised it! They were there to find out where to start the attack.

What promises has God given you that you think are too good to be true!?  We think that Peter Pan had it right (think happy thoughts). Okay that needs to be explained a little... Settle down don't shoot us yet!

We once heard a story that went something like this...

"One day a Man who was wealthy, bought a rusty, old and broken Chevy to a Restoration Garage. He told the Mechanic to spare no expense and restore the car to it's former Glory. Several months went by, and the wealthy Man returned to check up on the Restoration. He was absolutely in love with the job that had already been done, it was looking spectacular. The Mechanic was very happy to hear the delight of the wealthy Man, especially as he was only half way through the restoration. Before leaving, the wealthy Man said 'This is great, I cannot wait to put this in the destruction derby, I'll be the envy of everybody'. The Mechanic paused and in complete amazement began to ask what he meant, and the wealthy Man told him that he was going to place the perfectly restored car into the biggest destruction derby in the Nation."

Do you think it would affect the quality of the work the mechanic did on the second half of the restoration?

How you choose to think about the end has everything to do with how you behave in the middle. We've been called to disciple Nations. If that idea sounds too good to be true, you've chosen your standard. The very word 'Impossible' will tell you the truth... 'Im Possible'. When you entered the Kingdom you started a Brand New (Never before created) journey. It doesn't stop there, there is an entire playing field of faith for you to go and explore. If you think your job is to just wait for Heaven to come down then, unfortunately, you won't see God invade Earth the way He would like to. The way you choose to think about your new identity, will manifest itself in the way Heaven invades the planet through you. If you don't think God heals, chances are you'll never pray for someone to be healed. There's a reason Jesus ruined every funeral He ever went to; it wasn't time for them to have died. If it was, He never would have raised them from the dead because it would have been His Father's will.

Transformational thinking produces transformational doing.

We are currently in the UK visiting family, enjoying the massive amounts of incredible coffee (not as good as Sincerely, mind you!).  As we were driving to the airport, we were discussing this very topic- wanting to partner with our "happy thoughts" and begin to see transformational thinking produce the doing.  From the very moment we parked our car, to walking through the arrivals area at Heathrow, God has been speaking through divine appoints, to putting us in the paths of people He loves... We will have to write another post to share what's been going on, but we are more and more convinced that Momentum March is in full swing!

Leaving customs, approaching the baggage claims area, the UK informed us that we were on the right track...
