Some Red Carnations

Tell us what happened:

"Whilst spending time with God, He gave me a vision of encouraging someone on the street. Later, I was out and about doing a few things, when I asked Him where He wanted to go and if there was anything He wanted to do. God directed me to a flower shop, and I felt I was to buy three red carnations to give to someone. I walked past people on the street wondering who they were for... " Is it for this person?" but time and time again He would gently reply "Just wait". So I sat on the bench and rested for a bit. I began to pray over the city until I felt the nudge to go stand in a lit up area beside a store. I started to laugh because I literally looked as if a date went real bad as I stood there holding these flowers - God has a good sense of humor.

Soon after a lady, and I'm guessing her son, began to walk by me. I asked again "God, are they for her!?" "yes, that's her!" I started to feel really joyful! I asked for a word of knowledge, and felt that she was a nurse and that she needed some encouragement today. She went into the store which gave me some time because I started second guessing myself. A couple of minutes later, she came out and I felt the boldness to go over to ask if she was a nurse. And she was! I told her that I was practicing hearing God's voice and I felt that these flowers were for her. I then started giving her some encouragement, that she is really appreciated for all she does and for the hours of hard work she puts into her job. She began to glow and she was very thankful.

Quickly, she popped out her phone and told her son "Take a picture of us! I want to put this on Facebook!" As I was saying goodbye, she hugged me. The lasts words she uttered were, "Bless you." I walked away with a very full heart, knowing this lady felt loved and known, and we both got to share His presence in such a beautiful way."

Finding Treasure

Tell us what happened:

"During the Treasure Hunts last week, my team saw a group of teens sitting in Leigh Square and one of them was wearing 'blue shorts' which was on my list, so some of us approached them. We told them we were on a treasure hunt and asked if they could help us, to which they said yes. We told them we were looking for people with items on our treasure map. We mentioned the girl in the blue shorts, and asked whether or not either her or anyone else's names were on our list also. No one had any of the names on any list, but we got to celebrate taking the risk. Then we asked them about some of the other things that we had, such as back pain, sore feet etc and one guy had all of them, so we got to pray for healing, and then he let us prophesy over him. Turning the attention back to the girl with the blue shorts, we asked if there was anything way we could pray for her, and she agreed to let us bless her, also allowing us to prophesy over her about God giving her a creative gift in the arts.

After that a person on our team spotted a man in a 'cowboy hat', another clue on our list, so two people went over to talk to him. While we were waiting, I said hello to an older man at the bus stop. He asked me what we were doing and I told him that we were on a treasure hunt looking for people that God wanted to bless and maybe needed prayer for something, and he said "you can pray for me". He needed prayer for his leg, so we prayed for him. Afterwards, we asked him to test it out, he told me that his leg felt immediately better! Praise God. Then the man began to tell us about his Church background and why he doesn't go to Church anymore. I told him that God loves him and it doesn't matter what Church he goes to or doesn't go to, He is passionate about you regardless.

A little later we spotted a young woman with 'red hair' walking down the street with her boyfriend, I stopped them and told her we were on a treasure hunt and I believed she was my treasure, and then asked if I could bless her in any way? She said yes, we asked if she needed prayer for anything and she just shrugged her shoulders, as if to say not really. So I prophesied over her, I felt God wanted her to know that some negative things in her life were about to change for the good. She started to get teary eyed as her boyfriend nodded "yes that's so true". Afterward she didn't know what to say and could only smile with the encouragement."

My Valentine <3

Tell us what happened:

"It is a Happy Valentine story! I was going on my morning walk today (February 14), when I came across a sweet lady. We exchanged some Valentine words. I could tell she was from the Middle East by her look and accent. Because of snowy patches on the sidewalk, I told her to be extra careful. We talked a little more and I learnt that she was a Muslim. I noticed that she was limping and I asked her, politely, if she was injured; she had a sore knee. I offered to pray for her, but she was not comfortable with that. I did not force anything! Instead, as we were talkig I felt lead to ask for her forgiveness for the terrible massacre perpetrated by a Quebequer to her people in Quebec two weeks ago. I encouraged her that her people brought richness and zest to our culture and that we love them dearly. She was very moved and grateful.

The previous night, I was journaling a Song of Songs to my beloved Jesus, concluding with the drawing of two hearts His and mine united by an arrow. Jesus continued the conversation we were having the next day... After my walk, I noticed a little tree decorated with hearts, Cupids and teddy bears each of them holding a little red heart. There was an anonymous message "please take one". I brought home a little bear knowing that Jesus had sent me a special Valentine gift."

Gifts & Surprises

Tell us what happened!:

"Yesterday's Blessing:
In the past month my husband and I both twisted our eye glass frames and needed new ones but we are on a tight budget.
Yesterday we were walking by the store we have been buying our family's eye wear for 20 years. We stopped in to say hello and the owner informed us
she sold the business. Through her tears, we offered comfort on her new life and from the heart joked in regards to her new life!
Before leaving she insisted we both pick out new frames and gave them to us for free! God is Good over $400 in value! Bless and you shall be Blessed!

Today's Blessing:
I pulled in a full service station to fill up and the attendant was so joyful we laughed and laughed!
As I was waiting I heard the Holy Spirit say Bless him with $20, I asked Holy Spirit to confirm as I am on a tight budget HS confirmed.
I blessed the attendant who was shocked and most grateful.
Later that afternoon I walked our dog and found a crispy new $20.
I didn't give that man the $20 to gain anything back I gave him the money because God wanted to Bless him.
the Father knew I also needed that $20 today and found a way to bless me too.

God is so Good!"

Keeping it Simple

I was standing in the line at Starbucks the other morning, when I saw a social worker who had been involved with our family and our foster son for a couple of years.  I have not seen her for a quite a while as we had been assigned to other case workers over time.  This social worker was looking very tired and worn out as she was waiting for her morning coffee.  While standing there, I felt this wave of compassion and then felt the Holy Spirit whisper "encourage her today."  After ordering and paying for my coffee, I walked over to her and began to reconnect.  After updating her on our foster son' life, I started to encourage her.  I told her how much I appreciated everything she had done for us, how she had protected and helped our foster son, and because of her, he has this incredible opportunity for an amazing life and destiny.  I told her that she was one of the best social workers we have had and that she is amazing at what she does.  As most of us are aware, social workers have a very difficult job, quite often are seen as "the bad guys," so they don't often get positive feedback. As I talked her, her face began to light up and she began to smile.  By the time she left Starbucks, she looked like she had been to the spa.

I share this story not to bring attention to myself, but to demonstrate that sometimes releasing the Kingdom of God is simpler than we think.  Quite often God wants to meet people in unexpected ways.

Don't get me wrong, I love the stories of miracles, healing, and God encounters. I love the testimonies of God doing the impossible, but sometimes the miracle people need in that moment is God's kindness and love. They may need a smile, or a cup of coffee just to know that they are loved and cared for.  Quite often, we are only looking for the huge miracle, like praying for the guy in a wheelchair, that we miss out an opportunity for God to release His love in other ways.

I think the key to releasing heaven on earth is learning to abide in Him.  When we spend time getting to know Him, know His voice, recognize what He is saying and doing, then we can respond.  Jesus did only what He saw the Father doing.  We have been invited into this same relationship.  Jesus said we will do even greater things than He did.  I think it begins by knowing the Spirit's voice and responding to it.  It is about losing the boxes and paradigms on how we think things should look like.  Instead, it's responding in that moment to the smallest and simplest of things when He reveals it to you.  Maybe it's buying a cup of coffee, calling someone, giving flowers, or maybe it is praying for the sick person for healing, or giving a stranger a prophetic word. Instead of pressuring ourselves, let's keep it simple.  His spirit lives inside of each one of us.  Get to know His voice, know His love and goodness in your own life.

Ask for opportunities every day to release His love and His presence to others.   During your day, be aware of His presence and focus on Him.   Respond when you hear His voice and watch and see what amazing things He does in and through you.  Celebrate that you are in a partnership with Him, and enjoy the journey.

The Miracle Baby

Today's Testimony comes from Karen:

"Back in the spring, I was at my doctor's office. It was just the receptionist and myself in the office. We were talking, and she let me know that she was pregnant. I congratulated her, but she said that she was having problem with spotting and bleeding, so wasn't sure if she would lose the baby or not. I asked her if I could pray for her. She said, "Yes, but what do I need to do?" I said you don't need to do anything, but sit there. So I prayed. I thanked Jesus that he loved her and her baby. I prayed health over her and her baby. I prophesied what this baby was going to do in her and her husband's lives. She started crying and gave me a hug. I am happy to report that mom went on maternity leave last week, and she's due to have the baby at the beginning of November. I stopped by the office to give her a gift for her baby a couple of weeks ago, and she told me that she knows that something happened that day when I prayed for her. She said that she knows that her baby is a miracle baby!!! Yes, Jesus!!"

We LOVE good news!  Share the good news of what God is up to.  Let's build faith, extend the kingdom, and change culture with the Love of Jesus.

The Good Shepherd

Psalm 23

God is my Fierce Protector and my Pastor.
I always have more than enough.
He provides a resting place for me
In His luxury-love.
His tracks take me to the quiet brooks of bliss,
The oasis of peace.
That's where He restores and revives my life.
He opens before me the pathways to God's pleasure,
Leading me along in His footsteps of righteousness,
So that I can bring honor to His name.
Lord, even when Your path takes me through
The valley of deepest darkness
You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.
Because You are with me I have no fear of danger!
Your authority is my strength and peace.
The comfort of Your love takes away my fear.
I'll never be lonely for You are near.
You become my delicious feast
Even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of Your Holy Spirit,
You give me all I can drink of You until my heart overflows.
So why would I fear the future?
For your goodness and unfailing love
Will always be my companions every day;
Then afterward-when my life is through
I'll return to Your glorious presence
To be forever with You!
